Trippy.

Piano and drums... you don't hear that very often. What you did though was pretty good and the glitched drums were fantastic. However I do think that you should have added a pad to smooth out the mix. It just felt too dry at the end. Overall, just really good in general. Keep it up.

SessileNomad responds:

there is a pad, its pretty quite ill admit, but yeah its there lol

if you like piano and dnb/idm type stuff, you should check out more by quarl and myself

Cool.

Cool stuff you got here. It definitely has that "hero" theme in here. Only downside is that this sort of has an amateur sound to it, like it doesn't sounds all that profesisonal. I guess it could just be the cheesy sounds, but I dunno.

Keep it up and good luck in the contest. I should hopefully submit something soon too.

Step responds:

Thanks! It probably sounds amateur because of the really mad mixing and mastering, but it could be because of the sounds. The guitar isn't real, and it isn't from an expensive library of guitars either (unlike the strings and french horn which are from East/West Symphonic Orchestra), so that could be it.

I just submitted this as a sort of backup submission. I'm doing the real submission with a friend of mine :).

Good luck in the contest yourself!

This is pretty slick.

I have to say though, I've heard something similar like this on one of the Anjunabeats volumes. I can't remember which one, but it was definitely a recent one.

Also, everything in this track is pretty tight. The only thing you need to work on is the main melody - it just doesn't really stand out compared to the rest of the track and needs a stronger sound. It sounds too weak to me at the moment.

Really good stuff though, the transitions were smooth. That's one of the things that are hard for me in creating Trance. It just takes fucking forever to make it flow.

D-Chain responds:

Thank you :)
im glad you still like it as much as i do ^^

and no, i am not sure about making the main melody stronger..
you see, the title says it all: Rain Forests. it needs a relaxing feel, not a stressy / jumpy feel.

and MAYBE you didheard something from Anjuna... i dont know.
i just compose for a fact and living.
anyways.

thanks though :)

Not bad at all.

I would not say that this is better than the original, because the original is just as perfect as it is. But this close to it. All you need to do now is work more on the arrangement into a full remix.

And btw, it's mixing. Not mastering ;)

heartless1298 responds:

I didn't really wanna do a full remix with this because I didn't really wanna drag it out really long without something like an acapella. My next remix which I'll have done within the next few days or so has one and it will be a lot longer.

And have to remember that about mixing lol xD

Not bad for a mediocre sound card.

This track is alright. Nothing really special, but nothing bad. It has all the generic elements for dnb, but what you need is just some more vibe if you get what I mean.

Listen to some of LTJ Bukem's stuff on youtube, he inspired me to create dnb. Check out Oscillist as well. Keep up the good work, you'll get there if you keep trying.

MrTranquility responds:

I get what you mean, thank you very much for the constructive criticism! I'll make sure to check out LTJ Bukem and Oscillist as well. In all honesty this is the kind of review I prefer, your honesty is appreciated.

One of the rare trance songs that are good.

Seriously. This isn't something you hear everyday. You've got your own unique sound, but it's a sound that's very inspiring. It almost sounds your mixing about 3 genres into one. Very cool indeed. I am looking forward for more of your tracks dude. :)

synteza responds:

If you wanna hear some good trance, check out the Anjunabeats label. They have some real jewels, like:

- Anjunabeats - Volume 1 (Anjunadeep Mix)
- Above & Beyond - World on Fire
- Aalto - 5

You could probably get to other good songs by following the related videos on YouTube. Good trance songs aren't rare! I find that most of the time when someone considers a genre to be generally bad, that person is just having terrible luck finding proper representation of that genre.

after a long break, I'm back on Newgrounds. gonna submit some videogame music, and hip hop too. stay tuned. ^___^
